Out of the dozens of festivals and special events held at Seattle Center each year, the Bite of Seattle ranks among the most popular. Food is not the only attraction; you’ll also be able to enjoy live music, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment.

What’s to Eat?

Visitors to “The Bite” have the opportunity to indulge in tasty treats of all kinds, including entrees, desserts, fruit drinks, microbrews, and wine. You’ll be able to sample a variety of different ethnic foods, including Thai, German, Greek, Filipino, French, Russian, and Hawaiian. Many of the food booths offer “$2.00 Tastes,” small portions that allow you to sample different items without busting your stomach, or your wallet. Prices on entrees and combination plates can be up to $5.00.

Beer and Wine
Adults can savor an alcoholic beverage at one of the Bite of Seattle’s many beer and wine gardens. Beers of the world, Northwest wines, and brand-name cocktails can be enjoyed at designated locations throughout Seattle Center.

Music and Entertainment
You can rest your stomach between all those goodies by taking in live music and entertainment at one of Seattle Center’s four stages. Rock-n-roll, swing, jazz, and reggae are just a few of the musical stylings that will be offered from noon to closing each day.

But wait! There’s more. Bite of Seattle visitors can find a variety of other treats and surprises throughout Seattle Center, including:

GETTING THERE :
• NEW! Ride Metro from 3rd and Pike – Metro will add a new shuttle this year that will operate between Downtown Seattle (bus stop at 3rd Ave. at Pike St.) to the Seattle Center (bus stops at 5th Ave. and Broad St.). Shuttles will leave every 10 minutes from 10:45 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The shuttle makes inbound stops at 5th Ave. N/Broad St. and 2nd Ave./Pike St. The outbound stops are located at 3rd Ave./Pike St. and 5th Ave. N/Broad St. There is no shuttle on Friday. Round trip fare is $1.25.

Carpool and Parking Rates at Seattle Center
Carpool rates are in effect Friday-Sunday at all parking facilities operated by Seattle Center. Rates are $11 (one occupant), $10 (two occupants), and $8 (three or more occupants). Look for the Seattle Center logo to make sure you are parking in the least expensive spaces and to insure that your parking fees help support Seattle Center’s grounds, gardens, fountains and free public programs.

Parking and Access for Physically Challenged Persons
All buildings at Seattle Center are fully accessible. Disabled parking is available at all lots. If a lot appears to be full, ask a Seattle Center attendant for disabled access.

On Saturday and Sunday, Metro will operate a shuttle between the Northgate Park and Ride, at NE 112th Street and Fifth Avenue NE, and Seattle Center, located in front of the Intiman Playhouse on Mercer Street. The Northgate shuttle will run every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. to 9:35 p.m. on Saturday and 8:35 p.m. on Sunday. This shuttle makes inbound and outbound stops at Northgate Park and Ride, Northgate Transit Center, 46th, 76th, 85th and 105th. There is no shuttle on Friday. One-way fare is $1.25.

NEW! In addition, Metro will also operate a shuttle between Downtown Seattle (bus stop at 3rd Av at Pike St) to the Seattle Center (bus stops at 5th Av Broad) Shuttles will leave every 10 minutes from 10:45 am to 9:30 pm (Saturday) and 10:45 am to 8:30 pm (Sunday). The shuttle makes inbound stops at 5 Av N/Broad St and 2 Av/Pike St. The outbound stops are located at 3 Av/Pike St and 5 Av N/Broad St. There is no shuttle on Friday. Round trip fare is $1.25 (collected when traveling to the Bite of Seattle).

Alternate Route
Besides the major routes to the Seattle Center via the Mercer Street or Stewart Street exits off I-5, consider using alternates routes, such as Highway 99, Denny Way and Elliot Avenue.

Metro provides regular bus services to the Seattle Center on 13 routes. The routes providing direct service are 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 24, 33 and 74.
